The Best Salmon Marinade

Recipe #286303 | 40 min | 10 min prep | add private note
CHILI SPICE

Fabulous Family favorite!!! Super easy and lots of flavor! Made many times and never had negative results. If there are any leftovers this salmon makes a wonderful salad topper for lunch or a salmon salad sandwich. When cooking on the cedar plank or adding liquid smoke, it takes the salmon to a whole new level of flavor. Awesome... best of all this is pretty much idiot proof!

SERVES 4 -5 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix oil, soy sauce, scallions, garlic, and ginger to make a marinade, pour over salmon and marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator. (no longer than an hour or the salt in the soy will begin to cook the meat).
  2. 2
Grill, bake or grill salmon for about 4 minutes per side (when salmon flakes when pierced with a fork).
  3. 3
**** (for a smokier flavor, add a couple splashes of liquid smoke to marinade -or- soak cedar planks in water for a few hours and grill the salmon on the cedar on the bbq). FABULOUS FAMILY FAVORITE (KIDS TOO). ****.

I don't think it could get any better than this! Terrific flavor, fast and easy! It went right to the top of our salmon recipe list. DH told me "be sure to keep this one!" I will surely make this often. Thanks so much for a definite keeper! Be sure to add the Liquid Smoke, I used about 1/4 teas. It can't get much better than this!

It was great. I realized that I forgot the garlic so after the marinade was on the fish, I sprinkled with garlic powder. I baked it until the top browned at 350. Thanks!

Loved the taste combo of ginger, garlic & soy sauce in this recipe, which I halved to serve 2! So simple to whip together, also! Since we usually eat salmon several times a week, this will be on file in my kitchen from now on! Thanks for sharint! [Made & reviewed for one of my adopted chefs in this Spring's PAC]
