I grew up in Tucson but moved to Colorado in 1989. I was diagnosed with benign brain tumors in 2005 and so far have had 4 surgeries. There is still one tumor they have not removed and my left eyelid does not work so well anymore, but since I now go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN I am confident my wonderful doctor Dr. James Garrity will fix me up!

My husband was just told his blood sugar is high (Sept 2008) and to go on a low carb diet, so that is were we are right now.

I am 54 and the married mother of three grown children, a 6-1/2 year-old grandson Skyler

and identical (or so the doctors say - we don't think so!) twin granddaughters Alanna and Brenna born in Sept 2006.

My daughter and the twins live with us as does my 78 year old Dad, so I have a few mouths to feed, all with different likes/dislikes. We often grand-dog sit for our son's two Yorkie princesses and love having them around!

I don't create recipes so much as I test them and often modify them for our dietary needs. I love to cook (when I have time) and look for great new recipes. Sunday is the day I spend a lot of time on meal preperation because I like to have a big family meal. This site has been so addictive and I absolutely love the benefits of the Premium Membership.

I LOVE the benefits of my premium membership and will never let it go as Recipezaar has made me a better cook for sure!!

Favorite Foods:

I like almost everything but love mussels in any kind of sauce, pasta, Mexican food, wings that are crispy and have either a great sauce on them or a great sauce to dip them in, meals that are easy for after work, and meals that are a bit more complicated for Sunday.

We are often low(er) carbing in my house so I look for recipes I can modify to have no added sugar, white flour, potatoes, or other starchy veggies.

I won't even think about making a recipe that has a huge list of ingredients and it is the first thing I look at when I find a recipe that sounds good.
